About the Author

Pamela Turner lives and works in Charlotte, North Carolina with her husband, three children and several pets. A graduate of Davidson College, she has been writing poetry for several years. This collection chronicles steps on her spiritual journey, facilitated by the practice of raja yoga meditation under the guidance of guru Shri Parthasarathi Rajagopalachari. These glimpses of truth and possibility have inspired perseverance through the mundane and extraordinary challenges of life.

full circle

this tiny seed
breaks the shell
reaches strongly for the light

craves warmth, nourishment
unaware of its self,
follows the pull of Nature

to a final destination
unknown to the sprout
but written within

the secret unfolds, manifests,
delivers its fruit
in its own time

come walk with me

your hand reaches out
voice gently calls,
“walk with me”

just ahead,
not too far
walk with me

don’t look back,
all is changed
walk with me

this narrow path
but one can pass
walk with me

my heart holds you safe
if you agree
to come, walk with me

illness

eyes grow cloudy
steps may falter
take advantage

time is gone
for vain attempts
to quench this thirst

the wasting of the body
does not punish or erase
but turns the soul firmly

here and now, see the goal
let me move with conviction
to the beat of my heart
